What Is The Best Summer Log Cabin Option

Despite the cold snap following Easter, the reality that summer is coming is clear to see. The days are getting longer, the cricket season has started, and it will - we promise - get warm eventually.
That will prompt many people to consider investing in summer houses. Many will, of course, have been attracted by the idea of an extra space to enjoy to avoid bouncing off the walls of their home during lockdown. But as restrictions are eased and the hope of a brighter future emerges, it’s also worth thinking about a facility that will be great for this and any future summer.
Country Living has delivered its own take on the subject; it has listed ten styles it suggests people should consider for a summer house.

These include some very traditional summer houses: square and functional, but open to the elements while still being cosy.
Another possibility is some traditional overseas styles, such as a rounded Nordic style outhouse, made with Norwegian spruce logs and resembling a fairytale tower. Another suggestion is an outhouse with one rounded corner with a wide doorway, while a further suggestion looks much more like a garden shed.

Log Cabin On A Budget

Of course, anyone seeking a summer house need not limit their choices to the kind of ideas Country Living suggests. What the list does show, however, is that there is a wide variety of size, style, function and materials that can be deployed. Indeed, a log cabin can be tailored for anyone’s requirements from purpose to the constraints placed by the dimensions of the back garden.
Country Living is not alone in its love of lists. Business Matters Magazine recently offered its own five reasons why people should turn their log cabins into a home office.

It argued this is greener, helps create more space in the home, separates work and home life more clearly, saves time by aiding concentration, and will provide a meeting space when such things are possible.

All these may indeed be good reasons to use your log cabin this way. But the key message is clear: There are many options, and as everyone looks forward to a summer of greater freedom, its time to think freely about the best log cabin for you.
